Eni has started production of Goliat, the first oil field to start production in the Barents Sea, located in a ice-free area in the Barents Sea off Norway has a water depth of about 400m and sets the industry standard as activity migrates ever further north.
12 Dinamic Oil GB series gearboxes drives 3 mooring winches, installed on the Goliat oil platform, to handle a total of 14 mooring lines.
The entire project involves about USD 6 billion in direct investment. The field is estimated to contain reserves amounting to about 180 million barrels of oil and is expected to be in production for at least fifteen years. The daily output will reach 100,000 barrels of oil per day.
